As the emissaries of the human race try to find whether the gate is an opportunity or a threat, the greatest danger is the one they brought with them.
I'm stopping reading the Expanse series here. The main driver of the first two books is the unique feeling of incoming transcendental doom, while in Abaddon's Gate it got transformed into something... fascinating. That's enough, I'm not going further.
It is still a good book, with great storytelling and character development.
