The Clerkenwell tales

The fiendish Medieval London brought to life by the award-winning Peter Ackroyd 1399 - the last year of the 14th Century. By the side of the River Fleet in Clerkenwell, the people are restless, disenchanted with the Church and their King. The streets of London are rife with rumour, heresy, espionage, murder. And at the centre of this confusion is the nun, Sister Clarice. Are her prophecies the babbling of the crazed? Or can she "see" into the future?
