🌟 I love Orwell's writing for the powerful simplicity of his style. Every sentence moves the story forward. I especially appreciated how he wrote about animals expressing emotion. I re-read this for book club in a few short sittings in early 2026.

I love George Orwell. This is a beautiful allegory of communism through the eyes of a mid-twentieth century writer. It's not hard to see parallels to our current political situation.
This book gives a lot of thought about the current time, but has done so in previous years.
The key takeaway is to take care of yourself, your rights and to stand up for what you believe is right.
This tale highlights how an idealistic revolution can turn to a dystopia worse than the oppresion from before. There are many parellels to the story of the Soviet Union which makes it especially interesting for history nerds.
